About Joe
Our dealership was founded in 1954 by my grandfather, Curt Matthews, as Matthews-Hargreaves Chevrolet. My father, Joe Lunghamer, took over in 1975 and we became Stadium Chevrolet. In 1990, we moved to our current location in Waterford and renamed our store Joe Lunghamer Chevrolet. As President, I'm passionate about leading our company and contributing to the community. I grew up in Bloomfield Hills, attended Brother Rice High School, and have always been a football fan – Go Blue! and Go Lions! I believe in hard work, integrity, and building strong relationships, which are all qualities I try to bring to my work every day. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, and, of course, being a proud parent of five children. In 2027, we plan to open an all new, reimagined dealership on Telegraph Road across from our current location.
